Beautifully restored heritage building, that is cosy and welcoming, just like our hosts, Geraldine and David. Great location, awesome breakfast, so clean and comfortable. Loved sitting in the garden looking up to the Nut, watching the seabirds with a glass of Pinot Noir. Perfect ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dave and Geraldine were friendly and welcoming to their beautifully restored Poets Cottage. The room was very comfortable and clean and the cottage is in a great location with lovely views. The home cooked breakfast was a bonus as was the comfortable lounge which we could use. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if visiting Stanley.

Everything about Poet’s Cottage was excellent. The hosts were very attentive and all communication with them was quickly addressed. The location is fantastic, easy walking to town and to the waterfront. The breakfast choices and quality were also very good. All linen was of high quality and the whole place was scrupulously clean.

We expected top quality and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Geraldine and DAvid were wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were outstanding. Our seaview room was gorgeous and access and parking great. It was a perfect base for a 3 night stay as we enjoyed several day trips and then immediate access to Hersey’s Seafood and the Stanley Hotel for great dining. We really enjoyed the use of the front lounge room at Poet’s Cottage. It’s easy to see why this place received #1 B&B in Tasmania for 2026. Congrats! :

10/10, arguably our favourite place we've stayed in TAS. Certainly the best value. Owners were phenomenal, breakfast was better than anything you could get in town and was a real nourishing treat after normal eating out, location and as great. We'll be back.

Terrific heritage BNB in a lovely small town location. Comfy, clean rooms and a tasty breakfast cooked to order. Hosts were wonderful and gave us great location recommendations and advice on how to spot the penguins!

We had a wonderful stay at Poet’s Cottage Stanley. The host family was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and communication was easy from start to finish. The cottage is cosy and beautifully homey, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The highlight for us was the upstairs bed with a stunning sea view, waking up to that ocean outlook was just magical. Breakfast was also a lovely touch, especially the host’s homemade scrambled eggs which were absolutely delicious. The location is excellent too, close to everything in Stanley. Highly recommend and we would happily stay again.
